St michael's school commission, detail
This commission was for St Michael's school in Winterbourne, near Bristol. I ran workshops with every class in the school, where each child designed a letter. We used plasticine for the little ones and drawing for the older children, according to ability. The text was long enough for every child to be included. I translated their designs into carved letterforms.
