This unusual memorial was placed at the foot of a family grave in a remote Welsh churchyard and because of its unusual form it required a faculty (special permission).

I carved the boulder from a block of Red Wildernness Sandstone from the Forest of Dean, a long way from north Wales, so it became like an erratic boulder. In geology an erratic boulder is an incongruous stone in the landscape, moved there by a glacier. An appropriate image for a child in a churchyard.
